WHAT IS THE WPO?

VIDEOS  INTRODUCTION

THE WORLD PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA
Founded in Stockholm, December 8th 1985, by Marc Verriere & Françoise Legrand
under the patronage of the United Nations, the Nobel Foundation and the UNICEF

The World Philharmonic Orchestra (WPO) is the orchestra of the 21st century. The WPO was created so that the universal language of music would offer a message of peace and fraternity to the whole international community, uniting and bringing closer all nations through the participation of soloists who represent the symphonic orchestras from all countries (more than 80).

The WPO is the only orchestra in the world simultaneously combining these three qualities:
1. Artistic and musical excellence:"Grand Prix du Disque" of the Charles Cros Academy - All WPO musicians are first desk players in their home orchestras (solo 1st or 2nd);
2. Universality: The WPO has been cited as a unique example of international standardization by the ISO (International Organization for Standardization). The WPO --surely one of the world's most ethnically and culturally diverse organizations-- performs to the highest musical and artistic standards through the universal language of music;
3. Public service to international charities: UNICEF Medal - UNESCO - United Nations
- Red Cross.
