Chanasorn CHANTARAPAORAYA (born in April 1994)
Violon  - THAILAND

Chanasorn’s parents are cooks in a university restaurant in Chiangmai.
He is a very shy child.  His father plays the violin and would have liked to have earned a living at it.  Since he could not, he passed his passion on to his son, makes sure that he practices, and sends him to Bangkok to study with the finest teachers.  He already takes part in classes with a professor who comes to Bangkok twice a year to organize training sessions.  Chanasorn plays in a chamber music orchestra and seems destined to play in a professional orchestra later on.  He also plays the piano and has a good sense of rhythm.  But he is very shy and, contrary to Gavin, does not make friends easily.  Like many Thais, Chanansorn’s extended family, including parents, brothers and sisters, and grandparents, share the same small, modest home.
Thanks to the scholarship, he will be able to continue his music lessons and pay for the trips and the training necessary for him to perfect his skills.
On July 18th, 2006, Chanasorn was received by the Thai princess, who personally congratulated him.
