Ludwig Van Beethoven : Symphony No 9
WORLDWIDE PREMIERE This concert made the Beethoven's dream
a reality : have people over the world singing the finale of his 9th
symphony, the Ode to Joy, at the same time. Montreal, Moscow, San Francisco
and Geneva have been linked by satellite, and artists from those four centers
have simultaneously sang the final movement of Beethoven's 9th . in
MONTREAL : - The World Philharmonic Orchestra : 106 musicians, 4 soloists
(Nadine Denize, Nicola Ghiuzelev, Ben Heppner and Michèle Troise)
and 3 giant screens on stage to broadcast live the following choirs:
from MOSCOU :
- The USSR State Academy Russian Choir (100 members of the
Gostelradio choir)
from SAN FRANCISCO :
- The Masterworks Chorale from San Mateo (100 members)
from GENEVE :
- The "Suisse Romande"'s Choir (100 members)
This event was broadcasted live on giant screens in many
cities over the world: America (North and South), Europe, Africa, Australia
and Asia. |
